Terms of Participation

Terms of Participation in the 2021 Garmin Run Series 10km Virtual Edition race

Registration is possible through completing the following steps:

1.     Fill in the registration form on www.charityrunmalta.com/garminrun10k

2.     Pay the registration fee through the website as part of your registration

3.     After we receive your payment we send you a link to our race portal where you need to create an account and link your running watch/fitness tracker application. Once you've linked this, you don't have to do anything else, your activities will be automatically synced with our app.

For an entry to be valid, entrants must complete the registration form on the above url and pay the entry fee prior to registration cut-off date of the event: until 6 December 2021 (extended from 1 December 2021). Following this, it is the participant’s responsibility to visit the race portal and complete the linking of their watch/fitness tracker application with the application of the race prior to starting any activity they wish to count against the target of the challenge.

Registering activities to complete the challenge

If you follow the steps above for registration and the instructions provided as part of the registration process, the activities from your fitness/sport tracker/watch will be synced automatically. Please note that only activities that you do AFTER linking your app with ours will be synced, we do not handle/track activities manually and we do not accept activities manually entered or GPX imported to tracking apps.

Breaking down/completing the challenge

Only recorded indoor and outdoor running and walking activities count (excluding daily steps). You can do as many activities as you like and cumulate your distance against the goal. The only limitation is to finish the challenge i.e. collect enough km by the cut-off date.

The Garmin Run Series 2021 10k Virtual Edition opens on 8 December 2021 and runs until 13 December 2021. Participants who have linked their tracker with our race portal before 8 December will have their activities calculated against the race target from this date.  Only activities completed AND synced with our race portal automatically within this period count against your challenge target.

Please note that only activities that you do AFTER linking your tracker app with ours will be counted against your challenge target, we do not handle/track activities manually and we do not accept activities manually entered or GPX imported to tracking apps.

As part of the registration participants get access to our race portal on which they can always track their progress vs the challenge target.

Participants and teams

Each participant will have to complete the 10km distance and we have prizes for the top 3 male and top 3 female participants. At the same time, we encourage you to form teams, challenge each other and maybe even run together (bearing in mind Covid-19 measures and safety), so we also have a team prize to give away. Teams can be up to 10 people and members should indicate their team name as part of the registration process (max. 15 characters).

The team prize will be given based on the fastest cumulative speed divided by the number of team members. All team members have to complete the10km race distance individually.

Supported tracker applications

The up-to date list of supported trackers can be found on our race portal. At the time of closing this document, the following brands are supported (new for the 2021 Garmin Run Series 10km Virtual Edition race!): Apple Watch, Apple Health, Garmin, Fitbit, Adidas Running, Map My Run, Map My Ride, Map My Walk, Runkeeper, Strava. Please note that first you have to connect your app and we do not accept activities manually entered or GPX imported to tracking apps, including for indoor activities.
